Renaming Files Using F2 Key
This might catch you off guard but the F2 key has been used for a while for renaming files. It is a simple one-step process which allows you to rename files within seconds.
To do this, simply locate the file you wish to rename and select. Press F2 and the files shall be available for renaming. Once you have inserted a new name, hit Enter.
In addition to that, if you wish to select multiple files for renaming, all you have to do is hold Shift and use the arrow keys.
Rename Files Using Home Tab
Another way of renaming files instead of using the traditional ‘Right-Click’ method is the Home tab. With this feature, you can easily rename files and folders at the same time.
To do this, simply navigate to the folder which contains the file or files you intend to rename. Once you are inside the folder, select the file or files and click the ‘Home’ tab located in the top panel. Click ‘Rename’ for a new title to be inserted.

You can either upload all files within a folder or custom select files. To do the former, we select the second option i.e. ‘All files from a folder’ and click ‘Add Files’. Easy File Renamer will display a list of folders existing on your PC. Select the desired folder and click ‘Ok’
Within seconds, Easy File Renamer will upload all the files located inside the folder. By default, all files are selected but if you wish to custom select files, simply uncheck the boxes.
Once you have selected the files, move to the next step which is choosing a ‘Renaming’ option. As already mentioned, Easy File Renamer offers several renaming options.

Similarly, you can also rename folders by selecting the ‘Folders’ option next to Files. Then, click ‘Add Folders’ and select the folder you wish to rename. Click ‘Add Folder’ for the folder to be uploaded.
Now that the folder is uploaded, select the ‘New Name’ option and enter a new name in the bar. Click ‘Add Rule’ to preview the folder with the new name. Then, click the ‘Rename’ option located at the bottom in order to permanently rename the folder.
