Rename Multiple Files Without Right-Clicking

Renaming Files Using F2 Key

This might catch you off guard but the F2 key has been used for a while for renaming files. It is a simple one-step process which allows you to rename files within seconds. 

To do this, simply locate the file you wish to rename and select. Press F2 and the files shall be available for renaming. Once you have inserted a new name, hit Enter.

In addition to that, if you wish to select multiple files for renaming, all you have to do is hold Shift and use the arrow keys. 

Rename Files Using Home Tab

Another way of renaming files instead of using the traditional ‘Right-Click’ method is the Home tab. With this feature, you can easily rename files and folders at the same time.

To do this, simply navigate to the folder which contains the file or files you intend to rename. Once you are inside the folder, select the file or files and click the ‘Home’ tab located in the top panel. Click ‘Rename’ for a new title to be inserted.

Now that the folder is uploaded, select the ‘New Name’ option and enter a new name in the bar. Click ‘Add Rule’ to preview the folder with the new name. Then, click the ‘Rename’ option located at the bottom in order to permanently rename the folder.
