Creating a Specialty Digital Photo Album in 5 Easy Steps

Photographs are a great way to reminisce long lost memories. They simply help you revisit old times and cherish your special moments all over again.

One of the best ways to preserve your photographs in an organized manner is to create a specialty digital photo album. In this article, let’s go through five easy steps to create one.

1) Decide a Theme

Make this as personalized as possible. Your digital album could revolve around birthdays, family holidays, anniversaries or literally anything that is important to you! No, the pictures in your album do not need to be chronological!

2) Collect Pictures

If you are creating a digital album, do not get started until and unless you have a nice collection of photos with you already. Make sure you select an adequate and finite number of photos only.

For instance, a friend who was creating a digital album for his wife’s 50th birthday used just 10 pictures. I understand that 10 might be too little for you but depending on your theme, you shouldn’t exceed 100. Keep it simple. Sometimes, less is more!

I would suggest that you keep a separate folder in your computer where you collect the edited (preferably non-blurry) and finalized versions of pictures that you wish to use in your album. You could also keep a separate USB drive or simply store all the pictures in the cloud so that your files can be accessed anywhere, anytime.

3) Get Creative with Captions

Writing heartfelt captions is a simple way to make your digital album memorable and precious. Make a new document on your computer and start writing captions or short notes that you would like to have along with the pictures in your album.

Be creative, witty and if possible, funny! Pour out your emotions and feel free to be expressive.

You could also write the captions on a page but it is better to type them on your computer so that it is easier to edit or copy and paste them to the album.

4) Designing

Once you have collected all the pictures and decided the captions, it is time for the design part. Most printing vendors have templates for photo albums built in their designing software programs. All you need to do is select a template, load your pictures/captions and get started with the designing!

There are many tools out there that you could use. For instance, Mpix, Blurb, AdoramaPix or Mixbook.

5) Order the Album!

Here comes the most exciting part. Once you have proofread and finalized everything, you will be ready to order your album! Waiting for your order might be the hardest part but trust me, it will be worth the wait. It is always a nice idea to order multiple copies as backups.

Although creating a digital photo album isn’t a hard task, if you feel that you won’t be able to make one yourself due to time constraints or whatever, you can always contact a photo organizer too.

We hope you are able to follow our guide to make a memorable digital photo album that not just you, but your future generations will also cherish 🙂
