Get Back Google Drive Deleted Files

We all know how essential a cloud service like Google Drive can be, especially with the auto-save feature. Owing to this, days of buying heavy and expensive hard drives are now long gone. Google Drive is almost a life savior now.

While there are several ways to recover deleted files on a computer, people are not usually aware of how to do so when it comes to Google Drive. In this article, we’ll explain a few simple ways to recover your files.

Google Drive Trash

Unless your files have been deleted permanently, you can head to the Trash and find your files there.

  1. Click on any file that you wish to recover.
  2. Now just ahead of the bar that says Search Drive, you’ll spot the icon that says Restore from trash when you point on it. Simply click on it, and your file will be moved back to its original location.

For everyday users, this solution is most likely to work. Good thing: It will only take a few seconds.

Contact a Drive Specialist

In case you are unable to find your desired file in the Trash section, you may also try contacting Google Drive’s support team. You could do so via this link; email or live chat are the options you can exercise. If possible, one of their representatives will get back to you, and help you recover the file.

Contact Your Administrator

This option is only for users who use Drive File Stream, and are registered through an official school, company, or a similar official network. In such cases, you must contact your administrator within the 25 days of deleting the file. Here’s how the administrator can recover a file:

  1. After logging into Gmail, go to Management Settings.
  2. Select the specific user who wants to recover a file and open up their profile.
  3. At the top-right corner, you’ll see the Menu option, click it and select the Restore Data option.
  4. Select the file that the user wishes to recover.

Note that this method will only work if a user wants to recover a file that was uploaded or created by themselves.

Automated Tools

If you have Google Drive installed on your computer, you can try automatic tools like AnyRecovery. They do a fine job and even have a free trial. Alternatively, Backupify’s G Suite Backup service is also quite reliable. You will have to pay for it though.

I hope you are able to recover your deleted file with any of the above-mentioned ways. Happy Recovering!
