Find Duplicate Photos Which Are Resized & Edited

Having duplicate photos accumulated in your computer could be aggravating. Whether you’re editing your photos to add some creative frames or you are simply resizing them, it is likely that you’ll end up saving similar files as well.

So how does a professional like a graphic designer, or a professional photographer deal with duplicate photos? They play with multiple copies of a single image every day and gather duplicates very quickly. The solution lies with PictureEcho. This software is built to scan and delete duplicate photos, and it performs the whole job in a ‘fast and furious’ manner. Use it now and recover tons of storage space.

There are numerous problems that could result due to these unwanted similar/ duplicate files. Imagine having to find a specific photo when you have very limited time. You wouldn’t want yourself to be scrolling through your gallery for hours, right?

Not only this, but such files also occupy a lot of your device’s storage space, making it slower for everyday tasks. To avoid such issues, it is always advised to get rid of duplicates files as soon as possible.

Browsing through all your folders and looking up for similar files manually is time-consuming and definitely boring. Good thing is that now, there are several tools that can automatically perform this monotonous task on your behalf.

Intro to PictureEcho

PictureEcho, a visual-similarity based duplicate image finder, is compatible with Windows 10, 8.1, 8 & 7. It supports various image types including JPEG, JPG, PNG, GIF, ICO, BMP, and TIF. The program allows users to scan folders, hard/external drives, USBs, and even networked locations.

How Does it Work?

  1. Once you’ve installed PictureEcho, launch it and click Add Path.
  2. Now select the folders you wish to scan.
  3. Next, select your search preferences from the following options:
    • Exact Match (Images with the exact same hash)
    • Similar Match (Images with close resemblance but enough differences that can be easily noticed by the naked eye)
  4. If you select the Similar Match option, you’ll get further options under the Similarity Settings tab. Select the appropriate level and click OK.

    Similar Scan Levels
  5. Hit the Start Search button and let PictureEcho do the job for you.
  6. Once the scan is over, you can see details about the detected duplicates in the program’s footer.
  7. PictureEcho will now allow you to either relocate the detected files or delete them permanently. The retaining process can be based on several different factors including:

    • Image Size
    • Resolution
    • Date of Creation
    • Image Location
  8. Select your desired action and you’re done!

Trust me; the process is even easier than it sounds. While most tools simply detect exact duplicates, PictureEcho is able to find visually similar images as well.
